With Gratitude to Ginny Fogg!
As part of my #mindfulness practice, I’ve been keeping a gratitude journal – and I’ve decided to start showing my appreciation for my dear friends here. I’ll start with Ginny Fogg.
Ah, Ginny. I first met Ginny about 20 years ago. We sat next to each other at a conference and politely struck up a convo. We both came in quiet, reserved. But I could tell immediately there was a connection.
Over the years, we’ve seen each other grow. As leaders in the Mid-Atlantic chapter for the Society of Corporate Governance. As friends in our work life. No matter how busy Ginny was, she always made time. And she was busy indeed, wearing many hats at Norfolk Southern and rising to be Chair of the Society.
She doesn’t know it but she has touched me deeply many times. Her kind remarks at a “Women’s 100” event. A very recent interaction. She pushes me to be kind. To be smart. Creative.
Now that she’s newly retired, I’m looking forward to collaborating with her on things that we love to do on ZippyPoint.com. Governance geeks. Corporate law nerds. #gratitude
