With Gratitude to Stacy Ingram!
As part of my #mindfulness practice, I’ve been keeping a gratitude journal – and I’ve decided to start showing my appreciation for my dear friends here. This appreciation is for Stacy Ingram.
Stacy has a huge job at Home Depot. But if you met her, you wouldn’t know it because she appears as cool as a cucumber. Always a smile upon her face.
She is one of the best in-house speakers I know. Which means she is one of the best speakers period – because those in-house that can convey that practical “here’s how to really do it” stuff are invaluable. You just know stuff that you can’t learn in a law firm.
At one of my conferences, I experimented by asking a half-dozen folks to do a 5-minute Ted Talk. These spots were interspersed throughout the day. The idea was to provide some relief between panels by mixing up the format.
All six of these people did an incredible job – and Stacy certainly was a “wow”! No guidance from me as to topic or content. She just went up there – solo – and commanded the stage. A natural.
I am particularly grateful for Stacy giving ZippyPoint.com a “shout out” during a panel that she spoke on for the Society’s “Essentials” program this week. The support is much-needed and was not expected. So a heart-felt thank you!
