5 Ways to Know If You’re a Good Catch (“How to Ask for a Raise”)

Back when my wife & I were first dating – over 30 years ago – a friend of hers joked that I was a good catch. We thought that joke was a hoot – and we still refer to it occasionally today. But have you considered that question in the context of your own value to your employer?

When I thought of the idea for this video, I suddenly realized that over the course of my career, I’ve left countless dollars on the table.

Lawyers surprisingly tend to be horrible negotiators for their own pocketbook. And I am no exception. The few times I’ve asked for more money from my boss, I’ve received the raise 100% of the time. That should have been a sign, right? I’ve always underestimated my value. Oh well.

Here’s five things covered in this Vid-Guide:

  1. All your bosses have prized you
  2. Your colleagues are comfortable with you
  3. Your clients dig you
  4. You love you
  5. The universe can’t get enough of you
